Bridesmaid DIY Box (for only $10!)

I’m very excited to say that I’m getting married! My boyfriend (now fiancé) of five years popped the question and in a little under just eleven months we’ll be tying the knot. Now as thrilled as I am to be engaged, I was was also looking forward to asking my bridesmaids to be a part of our special day. So I chose to make Bridesmaid Boxes!

Even though I had seen tons of inspiration for a DIY Bridesmaid Box on Pinterest, there were actually few tutorials. So I thought what the hey, lets share with people how we made our bridesmaid box! Each box only actually cost about $10 to make! (Okay, so $10.33 if we’re going to get picky.) I ended up making four bridesmaid boxes and one maid of honor box.

I started out shopping for my materials and though I frequented three places I feel like it was totally worth it.

DIY Bridesmaid Box Supplies:

Dollar Tree

5 Resort Pineapple Vanilla Candles
3 Boxes of Wet N’Wild By Fergie Nail Polish
5 Boxes of Yardley London Oatmeal & Almond Soap
5 Elf Shimmer Lip Glosses
Sheer Ribbon

Walmart

5 Wooden Letters
6pk Martinelli’s Sparkling Apple Cider
1 Bag of Hershey Milk Chocolate with Almond Nuggets
1 Canister of Apple Barrel Cameo Pink Acrylic Paint
12 Ct. Pink & White Striped Wilton Pop Sticks (I used them as straws)

3 (2 Packs) of Shirt Gift Boxes
2 (4 oz bags) of White Crinklies

Why not DIY something for your bridesmaids? It all makes it more memorable because of the thought put in. After I collected everything I started by first painting my wooden letters that I’d purchased. They each were an initial for a specific bridesmaid. I let each letter dry for about ten minutes and did two coats of paint.

First I opened one of the boxes and placed the white crinklies inside so that I could better visualize how everything needed to be placed.

Next I opted to cut the ribbon and tie it first onto a bottle of Martinelli Sparkling Cider and then attach the pop stick (straw). I chose Martinelli because two of the bridal party are under age and also, who doesn’t love sparkling cider? Definitely will probably toast with it at my wedding. #realtalk

After the bottle was ready I placed it on the lefthand side of the box since this was the tallest object.

Therefore, the next largest objects were the soap and the candles so I placed them in the box next. They also are similar because they’re bath items.

Also, I chose to place the lipstick and nail polish next since they were both similar in size and of use.

Then I sprinkled some fantastic golden chocolates in.

Finally I enclosed their initial and a card entitled “I can’t wait to watch you act surprised when I ask you to be my bridesmaid” and also a bridesmaid booklet on the underside with details about the big day.
