Easy Stove-Top Macaroni and Cheese Recipe 2

Easy Stove-Top Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

There’s a lot of pressure when cooking for family. I don’t think anyone understands that better than moms. In fact if the Bad Moms 2 trailer is any indication I feel they whole holiday season they turn into bigger superheroes than the rest of the year. There are so many dishes. Not only is there the main dish but also all of the sides. Plus desserts of all kinds to please everybody. Even if you are as prepared as ever like my mom there’s also things that you can’t plan for. One Thanksgiving we ate a few hours late because even though dad remembered to turn the roaster on, it wasn’t exactly plugged in. Last Thanksgiving just an hour before Christmas dinner our border collie, Belle, ate the entire turkey. And tracked it around our house to boot. The day was only saved when we stole one of mom’s presents from under the tree (a missing pressure cooker part) and cooked chicken breasts as rapidly as possible. In fact, no one even knew until we were well into gifts after dessert. While this easy stove-top macaroni and cheese recipe is perfect for Thanksgiving, it’s actually great year round!

One of my favorite meals when I was small was hamburger meat mixed with mom’s easy stove-top macaroni and cheese recipe. But then of course it also livens up any commonplace main dish, like chicken. It’s a favorite of kiddos from the time they are small and I don’t doubt that for most fully grown adults its also a comfort food.

I’ll also be sharing a baked version that my Uncle typically makes for the holidays soon!

Easy Stove-Top Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

Begin by boiling water on the stove. Once it has come to a rolling boil, pour in macaroni noodles.

Once you boil them for ten minutes (stirring to keep them from sticking to the bottom of the pan) you’ll drain them. Add just a little water to coat the bottom of the pot before returning the noodles.

In a separate pot pour in the whipping cream, half and half and chunked up Velveeta.

Use  a whisk to mix the cheese sauce ingredients over low heat.

Once you have combined all ingredients season to taste with salt and pepper.
