My New Years Resolutions

I know I talked your ear off about how to write New Years Resolutions That Don’t Suck last week. However, I also know most of you probably aren’t too interested in the nitty gritty specifics of my personal life. A lot of other bloggers have shared their resolutions, so I thought – why not? So here are my goals from a larger perspective.

Take Better Care of Myself

I’ll be honest with you – I was completely unprepared for how busy I would be my fall semester last year. I’ve always been busy but this time it actually got out of hand. I’m a firm believer that you can survive thrive when you have lots of obligations if you’re mindful about it. So this next year I’ll be focusing on my health in terms of sleeping, what I’m eating, drinking more water, taking vitamins, and hopefully exercising (I haven’t decided about that one quite yet).

Improve at Aspects of Adulting

I need to learn how to cook better and manage a household better (meal planning & a cleaning schedule). I realize that not every adult woman wants to or feels compelled to be a homemaker which is one hundred percent fine – but I do. I want to learn how to cook delicious things. I also need to make doing my hair and dressing like a human being more of a priority because soon I’ll have a job.

Blog More (and Better)

I might want to blog full time once I graduate. I might not. But I want to have that opportunity if it’s something I need as a safety net or decide is what I want to do. So to do this I want to learn how to blog better (I’ve already pinned like a bajillion pinterest posts on the topic) and I want to blog more frequently.

Invest More (Financially & Emotionally)

I began my own business in August and it’s provided an extra source of income. I need to learn how to put this where it will be of most use – savings. I hate to say it but I’ve been so busy I haven’t been investing emotionally in most relationships and I’m going to work on that.

Prioritize, Prioritize, Prioritize/Not Procrastinate

Hi, my names Lauren and I’m a master procrastinator. But really. It’s not that I don’t complete assignments/study for tests in college. It’s just that I have a tendency to wait until the morbid end so I’ll pull an all nighter. This year I’m going to use my nonexistent small amount of down time on school nights thoughtfully to win at life more.

Find More Balance

There will be more posts about this because its really something I need to work on. Before owning a business and blogging I never really worked at home (homework doesn’t count). If I lived alone I would probably be a hermit and this wouldn’t be a problem. But I don’t. I’m lucky enough to have two snuggly canines and one snuggly boyfriend who are crazy enough to actually want to spend time with me. So I want to find more balance.

Being A Better Human

I want to make giving back a larger part of my life. I’m so blessed – it’s about time for me to do what so many people in my community have done for me.

Do you share any of the same challenges to work on in the upcoming year?
