4 Step Sweet Butter Almond Bars

Two summers ago, I attended the United States Dairy Education and Training Consortium. This is an intensive six week program that focuses on providing a sustainable solution to incorporating excellent people with a passion for the Dairy industry into serving it. We would spend time on a dairy farm each weekday and went to a different one almost every single time. The very last dairy farm that we spent time on we were greeted by the family that works and owns it and they brought us something super tasty! They had just gotten these 4 Step Sweet Butter Almond Bars out of the oven and they were nice and toasty. I just HAD to get the recipe, and now I get to share it with you!

I mean, if there’s a whole pound of melted butter in a dish, there’s no way it can be bad right? We also had these bars with water or milk, which was incredibly refreshing! They are very sweet and you will probably need something to wash them down with.

To begin you should mix the sugar, eggs, almond extract, flour and baking powder in a bowl.

Then, melt your butter and incorporate that as well.

Once it has been mixed properly, you’ll be pulling it out of the mixing bowl and putting it into a 9 x 13 dish. The dough isn’t the prettiest yet, but it’ll still taste delicious I promise.

With your hands make sure that the dough is spread as evenly as possible and make sure that the corners are filled.

Then, add a sprinkle of sliced almonds across the top.

Bake your almond bars for twenty minutes, let them cool and then serve them whenever you’re ready!

You can always do half and half as far as sliced almonds goes if you have a fiance like mine!
