(Microwaveable) 4 Ingredient Chocolate Syrup

I talked about how much I adored lazy Sunday mornings in an earlier post, and essentially if we weren’t having biscuits, we were probably having pancakes. I don’t have an incredibly fantastic pancake recipe, but mine were probably a little different than what you grew up eating. That’s because even though we did have regular bottled syrup to choose from, mom would make this special Microwaveable 4 Ingredient Chocolate Syrup to go with them. It’s not for everybody, but I LOVE it and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I remember being so excited to catch a whiff of chocolate from the hallway near the kitchen.

As you grow in age, a few things happen from a kitchen perspective – you probably learn how to cook a little (I mean you do have to survive somehow), and you appreciate not only it being delicious but it being EASY! That’s part of the reason I am still as in love with this recipe as a I have been. I mean seriously, it’s in the microwave and you literally just have to dump the ingredients in there.

You start by combining the dry ingredients.

Make sure to mix them and eliminate any clumps of sugar with the back of a spoon.

Then add the water.

After mixing this together THOROUGHLY, just microwave it until it boils.

Be sure to whisk the mixture a little more so everything is evenly distributed (some of the more sugary stuff can start to sink).

Don’t you love my water spotted dish lol?

Next just add it to whatever breakfast pastry you fancy.

What are some of your quick microwave and dump recipes?

  • 1 Cup of Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup of Water
  • 1 teaspoon of Cocoa
  • A dash of Salt

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 Cup of Sugar, 1 teaspoon of Cocoa and the dash of salt together.
  2. Add 1/3 Cup of Water.
  3. Microwave for 3 minutes, or until boiled. Be careful not to overcook this mixture because the sugar in the syrup will crystallize.
  4. Whisk to ensure the mixture doesn’t separate out and serve!
